Iconic Mintons Majolica 'Hare and Duck Head' Game-Pie Dish and Cover
The model attributed to Paul Comoléra, shape no. 1990, date cypher for 1876
Oval, the shallow domed cover molded with two addorsed rabbit heads and two mallard heads symmetrically arranged, the upright ears touching to form the handle, the cobalt blue domed cover studded with yellow florets, the fluted waisted tureen affixed to a yellow ground basketweave tray with green rope twist handles, impressed uppercase mark, shape no., two additional cyphers and blue painted 7 to base and cover. Width overall 18 1/8 inches.

With Charles Murphy, Animal Art, New Orleans, LA, October 6, 1995, and accompanied by a conservation record from Wiebold, Inc. Antique & Art Restoration, 9 October 1995 (not included).
