Archaizing Silver-Inlaid Bronze Hu

The body is cast with three raised bands with two taotieh ring handles on the uppermost band and two smaller ones below the middle band. The design is one of archaic dragons and taotieh in geometric configurations. The foot is decorated with alternating diamonds, a design repeated at the mouth, below which is a collar of long lappets.The design is highlighted with silver inlay with some gilt inlay, all against a deep green infilled ground. Height 13 7/8 inches (35.3 cm).
