Two volumes, midnight-blue straight-grain morocco gilt in cloth slipcase, each volume with a concealed fore-edge painting: volume I with a painting of Leatherhead Church; volume II with Barking Church. 8 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches; 455, [1] pp.; 553, [1] pp. Light wear to corners..
With a description by Maurice Inman Inc. laid-in, many of whose fore-edge paintings were done by the Thistle Painter. Certainly the paintings on these volumes are remarkably well done.
