Nine volumes bound as ten, French calf of the period. 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches (16.5 x 9.5 cm); various paginations, with engraved music at the end of each volume, engraved plates, etc, Bindings quite worn, the last four slightly mismatched; Together with DANCHET, ANTOINE. Théâtre de M. Danchet. Paris: Grangé and others, 1751. Four volumes, period French motttled calf, all edges red. 6 1/4 x 4 inches (16 x 10 cm); engraved titles, portrait in the first volume, various paginations. Some wear, apparently complete but sold not subject to return.
This celebrated collection of comic plays was first performed at the annual spring fairs at Saint-Germain and Saint-Laurent, often by strolling players.
