Barozzo was among the most important architects of the 16th century, working mostly in Rome, where he took over from Michelangelo in the improvements to St. Peter's Basilica. He was also responsible for the Palazzo Farnese di Caprarola, the Villa Giulia, and many other major commissions. This edition includes Vignola's 1562 essay on the five orders, and a digest of his work on perspective.
