NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle held a successful auction of Rare Books, Autographs & Maps on September 23, 2021. The diverse offerings included early printing and fine bindings from The Julius and Theodore Cohn Library; a collection of sporting, mountaineering, and general books in Property of a Massachusetts Gentleman; remaining volumes from The Collection of the Late William Safire; and Abraham Lincoln items from The Collection of a California Family.

With competitive bidding the sale totaled a successful 525,596, surpassing the pre-sale estimate of $327,450-503,850.

Highlighting the sale was a signed note from Abraham Lincoln regarding the important African-American abolitionist and officer Martin Delaney. Determined bidders sent the note soaring over its pre-sale estimate of $$8,000-12,000 to achieve an exceptional $63,000.

All prices include the Buyer's Premium.
