Full black crushed morocco by Bayntun (Riviere), the spines tooled and lettered in gilt with raised bands, the covers ruled in gilt, marbled endpapers, the original cloth covers and spines bound-in, all edges gilt, slipcased together. 7 x 5 1/4 inches (18 x 13 cm); 222; 224 pp., illustrated by the author. Fine copies, some light thumbsoiling to the first frontispiece.

An attractively presented set of these popular verses that precede W.S. Gilbert's writing partnership with Arthur Sullivan.
