Two volumes, period three-quarters green morocco, the fore-edge of the first with a concealed fore-edge painting with a circular portrait of a young Dickens, surrounded by scenes from the novel; the second with a concealed split fore-edge painting (opening left and right) with a portrait of an older Dickens, with scenes from the novel. 8 1/4 x 6 inches; 613 pp.; 320 pp., 309 pp.; wood engravings throughout both volumes. Volumes with very light wear, about fine.
